What is Shirodhara?
Shirodhara comes from the two Sanskrit words “shiro” (head) and “dhara” (flow).
The Science of Shirodhara:
The warm oil falling on a single point on the forehead stimulates the vital points on your head, which helps boost blood circulation delivering a calming sensation, which further passes to the internal peripheral nerves of the forehead.
During Shirodhara treatment, the continuous pressure by falling of fluid on the forehead produces a vibration which generates electromagnetic waves and it reaches the brain cortex producing a tranquilizing effect.

Surya Shirodhara Assembly and Setup:
1. Assemble the Surya Shirodhara unit as directed in the manual.
2. Place the Shirodhara pot onto the top ring of the unit.
3. Heat 1.3 to 1.5 liters of your chosen oil in a separate pot on your stovetop until it's lukewarm to warm, recommended temperature 38 °C or 100.4°F
4. Carefully pour the heated oil into the Shirodhara pot, making sure the pot's nozzle is in the CLOSED position.
5. Lie down and place your head comfortably on the headrest of the Surya Shirodhara base.
DO NOT FILL OIL TILL BRIM
Base Capacity - 2 Litres Oil can be re-used for multiple sessions. Recommend use 1.5 litres at a time
